Historical citycentre
Dordrecht has many old harbors, alleys and monumental buildings. Just strolling around provides many surprising discoveries and beautiful vistas.
Stay in an extraordinary historical monument! This monumental building dating from 1650 is located in the middle of ‘the Hofkwartier’ of Dordrecht and it has a rich history. This is where artists have lived, shopkeepers have sold special goods, once there was a news agency, and recently it was a small art gallery. Some authentic details of the old walls and beams are still visible. On the 1st floor the old stained glass is still present. The entire building has been renovated and equipped with new and surprising elements and modern furnishings. The building has a fresh and light look that will make you feel right at home.
The building is divided into two apartments. On the 1st and 2nd floor you will find No.6a’. You can sleep here comfortably with 6 people and a baby / toddler (1x double bed, 2x single bed, 1x double sofa bed, and a babybed). The apartment No.6a is suitable for couples or families who love space, business travelers, families (with children) and larger groups. The ground floor is studio/loft No.6. This can be added for an extra 4 people (1x double bed, 1x double sofa bed). Both apartments can be easily connected so that you can stay with a large group. (no parties!)
Completely new spacious and open kitchens are situated in both apartments. A relaxation corner with lazy armchairs and a sofa bed. No.6 has its own private courtyard and No.6a has its own balcony. At the front of No.6a is a large table with 10 chairs at the windowside where you can work, meet or dine with your colleagues, friends and family. Ofcourse we have provided fast WiFi, and a flat screen TV is waiting for you in the sitting area.
You are in the historic and vibrant heart of Dordrecht. Within walking distance there are many restaurants, cafes and terraces. You can choose from Chinese, Italian, Portuguese, French, Dutch, Thai, Japanese and Surinamese restaurants in this area. Around the corner is a special Grand café where you can enjoy fresh coffee, pies, snacks and dinners all day long. Within walking distance you will find luxurious but also affordable restaurants and small and cozy (breakfast & lunch) bars.
Do you prefer not to go out? The two kitchens in the building are large and modern. You can enjoy your dinner at the big table at No.6a but you can also enjoy breakfast outside or have a drink under the stars on your own private balcony. Downstairs at No.6 you sit and have your breakfast or dinner at the special windowtable with a view of the passersby or sit at the high bar table in the middle of the room. We do not serve breakfast as standard, but a breakfast service via one of our local bakers is possible on request.
No.6a >> In the big apartment upstairs the master bedroom (2 p.) with large double box spring bed is large enough to place an extra bed for baby or toddler. The cozy and intimate attic (2 p.) At the rear of the building has two single beds. It is wonderfully quiet and has a special appearance because of the sloping roof and the small windows. The couch in the seating area on the 1st floor can also easily be transformed into a spacious double bed.
No.6 >> Downstairs you sleep on the sleeping loft (2 p.) Which you reach via the fixed, specially designed stairs/cupboard or you can use the spacious sofa bed (2 p.) in the living area of the studio.
The luxurious designer bathrooms with spacious walk-in shower offer every comfort. For every guest there are towels, soap and shower gel. There is also sufficient space for your clothes and suitcases. There is a hair dryer, iron and an ironing board. Extra blankets and pillows are waiting for you.
The location itself is fully equipped to relax and is wonderfully quiet, but there is much to do and explore in the immediate vicinity. Nice hip coffee and smoothie bars, vegan restaurants, modern lunch and dinner restaurants, everything is located nearby. The museum and the theater can be found at the end of the street and the cinema is just around the corner. Nice workshops, brocanteshops and galleries are close by, the street is part of the Artwalk. The pedestrian zone starts at only five steps from your front door. Discover the longest shopping street in the Netherlands, walk through the narrowest street of the city, across one of the many bridges and wander past the historic canal houses and past the many harbors. A unique cruise with the boat? This is easy because the boarding stage is located at the end of the street. Popcentrum Bibelot in the Energiehuis is only an 8-minute walk away if you want to visit a concert. And it takes only a two-minute walk to the Drierivierenpunt to the Groothoofd where you have a great view over the rivers from one of the terraces.
